Toby Bourke was the first artist to be signed to George's fledgling label Aegean and this duet was the company's first release accordingly. George had heard Toby's enchanting demo just a couple of nights after he loss of his mother Lesley to cancer, and adapted the lyrics into a touching tribute in the hope that it would help his father come to terms with the passing of his wife. Toby assumes the role of George's father in the duet, which explores both aspects of the family bereavement; 'She'll come to you in disguise / She's mother / She's still your wife'. The music is purposely kept simple with just a bass, acoustic guitar and piano, envoloped by Enya-esque backing vocals. "Waltz Away Dreaming" was donated to the Help A London Child charity, in order to raise funds for London's less advantaged children. Capital Radio listeners were asked to pledge money to hear an exclusive first play of the single in Easter Sunday 1997 and George vowed to give Pound 2 for every Pound 1 raised, but added 'If elton John or Richard Branson ring, tell them I was only joking!' A staggering total of Pound 1 million was raised for the cause and in a speech at the Capital Radio charity lunch George declared, 'My mother was a woman of great compassion, she was proud to be associated with what I do for Help A London Child.'
