Shooting straight to Number 1, Wham's incredible parting shot, "The Edge Of Heaven" ensured that the boys bid farewell with a typically upbeat climax. In this X-rated version of "Go-Go" the sexual connotations are deliberate, but somehow managed to pass the BBC's censors as they are virtually incomprehensible; 'I would strap you up... You know I wouldn't hurt you / unless you wanted me to'. George perceptivety remarked in his autobiography that 'nobody is going to care because no-one listens to a Wham! lyric; it has got to that stage'. The "Go-Go" comparisons are considerable, from the catchy barber shop introduction through to the classic banality of the 'Yeah Yeah Yeah' mantra and the sheer exuberance of the frenzied, pounding backing. The vocal melody is also not a million miles away from that of "Freedom" - a brillianty simplistic stepwise tune that is instantly appealing and memorable. This track notably features Elton John guesting on piano and the lads' childhood friend, former Executive colleague and later collaborator, David Morimer (now known as David Austin) on guitar.
