Marking an important development in George's songwriting ability, "Everything She Wants" retains the accessibility and vocal range of "Go-Go" whilst dealing with a significanty deeper subject matter. George once again takes full control, playing the idiosyncratic splashy keyboard parts and harmonising with himself in a marriage: he is the sole breadwinner whose pecuniary efforts never suffice; 'If my best isn't good enough / then how can it be good enough for two?' A repetitive and static backing intuitivety reflects the frustration within the stagnant material predicament, while George emotes his desperation with a poignant vocal. This stylish track is reminiscent of Michael Jackson's early solo material, and was remixed and released in the UK as a double A-side single with "Last Christmas" - come Boxing Day DJs were instructed to flip the festive ditty to its darker half.
